AYP (Academic Year Programme)- Japanese Students

Programme Description - Academic Year and Semester Abroad for Japanese students.
(Please note that applications must first be made through JFIE)

• Students live with carefully selected host families in the local area

• Students attend local schools and study alongside UK students

• Each student has a local counsellor who monitors and provides support for students in cooperation with the CHE central office staff who will help when either the school or the student require Japanese speaking assistance

The requirements for participation in the CHE AYP programme are:

• High School student in Japan
• Age - between 16 to 18 years
• SLEP test score of 36 or TOEFL score of minimum of 370
• Good academic level (overall GPA of at least 3)
• Maturity to adapt to new environment
• Willingness to adapt to British family life
• Successful score in a personal interview held at JFIE offices in Japan

Programme Includes:

• Assistance with all visa and entry requirements into UK
• Transfer at the beginning and the end of the programme
• Careful selection of Host Family and Host School
• Homestay, two meals plus packed lunch every day during the week, 3 meals a day on Saturday and Sunday
• Local Counsellor in the area of your placement; monthly reports to be sent to your family
• Translation of all School Transcripts
• Orientation in Japan and UK (UK orientation is an extra cost)
• Guardianship services by CHE
